Giving Opportunities
Private donations help us achieve our goal of enriching and maintaining our programs. Donations received support fellowships and scholarships, outreach programs, special research, and activities that enhance the learning experience of our students.
Giving opportunities are available for the following funds within our department:
- 1159 Cambodia Tiger Project
Tiger conservation and tiger conservation research in Cambodia
- 1613 Otto Kolshorn Memorial Fund
The purpose of this fund is to sponsor an annual lecture in the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife and Conservation Biology.
- 3637 PUF-Gordon Gullion Chair
To recognize Gordon Gullion's contribution to the study of the relationship between forest management and wildlife species, particularly ruffed grouse, and to reward a deserving student who shares his values.
- 5372 Jay C. Hokenstrom Memorial Scholarship
To provide payments to full-time undergraduate students in CFANS.
- 5505 Carp Management Research Fund
- 5748 Safari Club International - Erik Ness Memorial Scholarship
To benefit undergraduate students in wildlife management in CFANS. It is given by Safari Club International - Minnesota Chapter and the North Country Bowhunters in memory of Erik Ness, who died of cancer in 1999.
- 6015 The Leigh H. Perkins Fellowship in Wildlife Management
The fellowship assists graduate students working with the holder of the Gordon W. Gullion Chair in Wildlife Research and Education in the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife and Conservation Biology.
- 6035 International Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for current students in CFANS or new students who have been admitted to pursue a bachelor's degree in CFANS at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities, and who have strong personal and professional interest in, as wel as extensive first-hand experience with one or more of the countries and cultures of Africa, Asia, Latin America, or the Caribbean.
- 6550 The Wally Dayton Fellowship in Wildlife Research
Recipients of the fellowship will be graduate students in good academic standing and actively pursuing degress, or very promising students the Department wishes to recruit, and will be selected annually.
- 6762 Joseph N. Alexander Scholarship Fund
To provide payments to full-time undergraduate students in CFANS.
- 7917 Yellowstone National Park World Project Fellowship
Used to fund salary, fringe, tuition, fees, and research expenses for full-time graduate students at the U of M working on the Yellowstone National Park Wolf Project. Also, for operating expenses of the Project, as set forth in the operating budget.
Contributions made through the University of Minnesota Foundation are tax deductible and gifts may be made as a multi-year pledge or on an annual basis. Be sure to specify a fund and mention the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology when making a contribution. This ensures that your gift is properly received.
