Barriers, hazing and habitat alteration techniques to reduce Canada goose
damage
- Barriers, hazing and habitat alteration techniques move problem geese from
one location to another. They are only effective as a sub-component of a larger
community wide Canada goose management effort.
- Hazing, barriers and habitat alteration techniques do not offer a permanent
solution to the overall problem.
- Typically, a combination of techniques, tailored to the specific situation,
provides the best results.
- Because of current Canada goose numbers and reproductive potential,
population management is the foundation of a comprehensive goose damage
management program.
