Eurasian watermilfoil on the surface of Lake-of-the-Isles, Minneapolis Chain of Lakes, in summer 1991. Most of the lake surface was covered and the lakes were still recovering from the 1988-1989 drought. In 1993-1995, little milfoil grew deeper than 1 m in mid summer due to poor water clarity. A dry summer and good water clarity in 1996 resulted in growth to areas > 3m deep.
