Milfoil weevil (Euhrychiopsis lecontei) larva on Eurasian watermilfoil. Larvae will occassionally venture outside the stem and eat pieces of the stem and leaves (as above), however, they generally stay within the stem, mining the cortex and causing extensive stem damage.
