My interests is in the ecology of game species, with particular emphasis on galliforms and sustainable wildlife management strategies. I maintain a strong interest in the sustainability of hunting in the modern era and prefer to work within the applied wildlife sciences. My undergraduate background is in the Wildlife Sciences with an emphasis in Applied vertebrate Ecology and Conservation Biology, Humboldt State University 2006. My Master’s thesis involves the study of habitat selection by male ruffed grouse (Bonasa umbellus) over multiple spatial scales and in relation to forest stand characteristics. Although the ruffed grouse is a heavily studied species, much is still unknown about the habitat requirements for this species over multiple spatial scales as well as the importance of conifer species within these spatial scales.
